More detail: the full write-up
Best for commuter and older-bike owners who want straight-talking servicing without dealer pricing. Good for Malaysian riders breaking down around Woodlands or Kranji on the way through. Not the place for a fully kitted boutique fit-out or rare performance parts. Ring before you ride down, and if Ah Peng says a cheaper fix will hold, take him at his word.
The lowdown. Small one-man motorcycle workshop on Woodlands Road in Sungei Kadut, near the Kranji stretch riders use to reach the Causeway. Ah Peng handles the bench himself: engine oil, gear oil, chain and sprocket swaps, tyre changes, basic diagnostics. Walk-in friendly when the bay is free. Closed Sundays.
What riders say. The draw is Ah Peng. Honest quotes, no upsell, no pressure to swap parts that still have life. Bring him a vague problem and you'll get the cheapest test first, not a major parts swap. Regulars have stuck with him for ten to eighteen years.
Basic servicing is the bread and butter. Engine oil with a choice of Castrol, Liqui Moly or Motul, OEM filters when the part number matches, gear oil top-ups, chain and sprocket sets (Japanese-made when fitted), rear tyre swaps. Older bikes are welcome and parts have been found for them.
"No up-selling and no recommendation to change unnecessarily parts."
The unit is small with limited storage, so spare-parts range is thin. Phone first to check stock before riding down. Shop has closed earlier than posted hours on at least one occasion.
Good to know.- Call ahead to confirm parts and that the shop is open before riding down.
- Cash-friendly small workshop. No website.
- Chinese, Malay and English spoken on the floor.
- Often quiet midweek, so basic jobs can be done on the spot.
