More detail: the full write-up

Good fit if you want a budget monthly scooter or a starter bike on P-plate, or if you are visiting Singapore on an IDP and need something simple. Less ideal if you want a showroom-fresh ride or a guaranteed exact model on a short three-day booking. Lock the model, accessories and daily rate over WhatsApp before making the trip to Bukit Merah.

The lowdown. Motorcycle rental in Bukit Merah, off Lane 3 in the HKL Lim block. The fleet leans towards Vespa scooters (LX, GTS), Honda Wave, Yamaha FZ16, Spark, Aerox and the R15. Most rentals run monthly or longer, with WhatsApp the default channel for quotes, bookings and breakdown help. Free servicing is bundled into the rental, including engine oil changes done in-house.

What riders say. Bookings start on WhatsApp, usually with Katie or Leon, and replies come back the same day. Pickup is at the Bukit Merah workshop. International riders bring passport, licence and IDP. Pricing is on the cheaper end of Singapore rental, and they take P-plate riders without a heavier deposit, which is the main reason newer riders end up here.

The bikes themselves are a mixed bag. Newer units like the Aerox 155 and GTS 150 turn up close to new. Older Vespas and the FZ16 carry scratches and dropped paint but run fine, and any issue (a snapped mirror, a service due) gets handled in 10 to 15 minutes at the workshop. After-hours return is allowed and deposits land back the next day.

"Bike was in very good condition. I broke a mirror and they replaced it in 10 minutes."

The friction is at booking. Online listings drift from what is actually on the floor, so the exact colour, model or top box you reserved may change at pickup. Phone quotes have also disagreed with workshop quotes for short rentals.
