More detail: the full write-up

Best fit for riders who want one trusted spanner hand. Especially 4-cylinder owners, and anyone burned by inflated quotations elsewhere. Scooter and small-bike commuters get the same straight pricing. The trade-off is a one-mechanic bottleneck, so book ahead for anything beyond a quick fix.

The lowdown. Mechanic-owner workshop in the Kaki Bukit industrial stretch, at Unit #01-02, 21 Kaki Bukit Road 4. Ah Chuan runs the spanners himself, with Ah Hai on the floor. Servicing, diagnostics, electrical fixes, engine work, and the occasional used-bike sale. Riders who knew him from his SPC Pasir Ris days have followed him here.

What riders say. The draw is the boss-as-mechanic setup. Ah Chuan diagnoses, quotes, and turns the spanner himself, which keeps prices honest and the work accountable. A new P-plate KTM Duke 200 owner came in for headlight wiring quoted in the high hundreds elsewhere and left $27 lighter, bulb and labour included. That kind of pricing repeats across small jobs and big ones.

Where this shop earns real respect is complex repair. Other workshops, including named-brand chains, have towed bikes here for problems they could not solve, particularly 4-cylinder engine overhauls that most mechanics will not touch. Backfires, power loss, modded scooters, urgent jobs the agents refused. Ah Chuan takes the call, phones before proceeding, and tells you when something does not need replacing.

If you are honest in your business, words of mouth are a free advertisement for you.
