More detail: the full write-up

Best for riders who want a quick servicing or parts walk-in near Bukit Merah and already know the going rate. Less suited to first-time used-bike buyers, given the mixed track record on used inventory and quote stability. If you go for a used bike here, get a pre-purchase inspection done elsewhere and a written breakdown of every promised item before deposit.

The lowdown. Bukit Merah Lane workshop in the HDB ground-floor unit cluster. New and used bike sales, plus servicing, parts and consumables for daily commuter bikes and scooters. Boss Terry runs the front; the mechanic uncle and a younger fitter work the bay. Closed Sundays, open through Saturday afternoon.

What riders say. Two reputations sit side by side here. Servicing is fast. Oil changes, EO, filter swaps and small parts get turned around quickly, and the mechanics stay polite even when a job goes sideways.

The friction is price and used-bike sales. Quotes have shifted between visits on routine items, with $48 oil changes becoming $52 on a return trip, and pedal-set quotes climbing from $50 to $55 between asking and buying. Used bikes sold here have surfaced hidden faults months after handover. Two-year-old purchases are still racking up repair bills. Sales-counter treatment for walk-in individuals can run cold.

"the bike is still a gift that keeps on breaking"

Inspect twice and pin every line of any quote before paying.
