More detail: the full write-up

Best for commuter scooter riders on Yamaha NMAX, Aerox or Xmax who want a no-nonsense local workshop, and for second-hand buyers who prefer a small family shop over a chain dealer. Skip it if you ride a European bike needing brand-specific tuning, or want a shop that fits third-party parts without friction. Pin the quotation in writing before any work starts.

The lowdown. Workshop, used-bike dealer and insurance broker tucked into Defu Lane 10, the Hougang motoring strip. The Ong brothers run sales, servicing and paperwork under one roof. Day to day means oil changes, tyres, OBU/ERP installs, second-hand bike purchases and motorcycle insurance.

What riders say. Tone is general-practitioner workshop, not specialist tuning. Walk in with a flat tyre, an oil change due or a 6-month service and you leave the same afternoon. Ong and his team will tell you straight when a job is outside their lane and point you to a specialist. Yamaha scooters are the most common bikes through the door, particularly NMAX, Aerox and Xmax. The engine-oil shelf carries Ipone and Mobil, with cheaper daily-use options alongside premium grades.

Used-bike sales are a real second business. They quote transparently, skip the upsell, and turn paperwork around faster than the bigger dealers. Repeat customers buy two or three bikes here over the years, and the shop will buy bikes back when riders age out of them.

The friction is at the till. The boss can be blunt with walk-ins he cannot fit in. Get every line item written down before work starts. Prices climb once jobs are underway, and bringing your own parts is not always welcome even when cleared by phone first.

"Honest and reliable mechanics. Ong brothers always told riders the practical and no BS about the Pros & Cons of the repair before starting any repairs."
