More detail: the full write-up

Best for riders who want servicing, used-bike buys or an OBU install handled by a mechanic who will talk them through the work. Also workable for riders buying new, provided the numbers are pinned down on paper before deposit. Riders who want a quick interest-rate quote over the phone before committing to a showroom visit should look elsewhere.

The lowdown. Full-service motorcycle shop on MacPherson Road, a short hop from MacPherson MRT. New and used bike sales, in-house financing and insurance, servicing, parts and OBU installation all happen at the same address. The setup is one front office for sales and admin, one workshop bay behind. Ten-plus years in the trade, open six days a week, closed Sundays.

What riders say. The workshop side is where the goodwill sits. Ah Qiang draws the goodwill. Honest diagnosis, fair pricing, small extras thrown in. New tyres on a used buy. A bungee cord to get a stock shock home. Major servicing, fuel-tank repairs, suspension fitment (Öhlins included) and the new LTA OBU install are all routine work here. Mechanics explain what needs doing and what can wait.

Sales is the other half of the visit and where opinion splits. Smooth runs end with riders rolling off on a new XMAX 300 the next day. Omar and Umar are the helpful ones on the sales side. Friction shows up on phone enquiries about rates. COE callbacks slip past the promised time. Loan questions get curt replies after deposit is in.

"No fuss, transparent and reliable."
