More detail: the full write-up

Best for riders who want a straight-shooting mechanic and don't need a glossy showroom. Particularly suited to commuter bikes, small-displacement machines, and Yamaha WR155 owners (he sources OEM parts for them readily). Food delivery riders fit too. If you ride something exotic and need brand-specific diagnostic tooling, this isn't the shop. Ride over once for a chain tension check or an oil service to see if the chemistry fits.

The lowdown. General motorcycle workshop in Kaki Bukit, tucked inside Black Industry Motorcycle Shop at 25 Kaki Bukit Rd 4. One-man operation run by Ah Keong. Customers from his old Caltex shop in 2012 still follow him here. Day-to-day: servicing, mechanical repairs, tyres, chains, electrical fixes, and OEM parts sourcing.

What riders say. The draw is Ah Keong himself. He won't upsell. If a part doesn't need replacing, he says so. Pricing sits on the reasonable end. Turnaround is fast for small jobs like chain adjustment or a tyre swap. He'll often slot a five-minute job in front of longer servicing rather than make you queue. Work spans the obvious basics through to fiddly fixes: OEM switch swaps, auxiliary light wiring, mirror replacements, exposed wiring repairs under the tank, axle tightening. He'll source OEM parts for you, or fit parts you bring in for a labour charge. Some customers have stayed with him for a decade. Delivery riders are regulars.

"Trustworthy, highly skilled mechanic, good and fast service, fair pricing and honest approach."
