More detail: the full write-up
Best for new and returning riders who want a small-capacity custom bike with personality, plus a shop that stays in touch after the sale. Not the place if you are shopping big-bore Japanese or European twins. Drop in on a quiet weekday afternoon if you actually want to talk bikes; weekend evenings are more bar than showroom.
The lowdown. Custom cafe racer and scrambler dealer on Joo Chiat Road, a short walk from Marine Parade. Mutt sells British-designed bikes in the 125cc to 250cc range, popular with new riders and Class 2B holders. The showroom doubles as a hangout with a craft beer fridge, sofas and live music nights. Sales, servicing and a small community space all under one roof.
What riders say. Sales is the main visit. Walk in for a quotation, browse the Akita, Fat Sabbath and other models, and chat through licence-class fit. The crew is comfortable with first-time buyers and learners still working towards 2B. Ask for Jules, Izzy, Tania, Iain or Shah on the floor. Test rides and paperwork get handled in-house and pickups land fast.
Servicing is done on site by Kenneth and Haren. Expect proper pre-checks: chain tension, oil filter, signals, odometer. Mechanics will walk you through what they did and flag what to watch.
"Goes the extra mile at each servicing on making sure that my bike is in tip top condition."
The space leans clubhouse. Free wifi, cold drinks, a smoking lounge for waiting customers, and weekend foot traffic that is half buyers, half neighbours dropping in. One friction point: a guest reported being told about a per-person drink minimum only after the bill, so check house rules if you are using it as a bar rather than a showroom.
