More detail: the full write-up

Fine for a defined small job on a scooter, especially Vespa. Agree the price in writing first and know exactly what you want done. Riskier for vague faults, long diagnoses or third-party accident claims. Expect delays, swapped parts and disputed bills. If the work is bigger than a tyre or routine service, get a second quote before committing.

The lowdown. Scooter and motorcycle workshop tucked into a Bukit Merah Lane 2 shophouse, just off Tiong Bahru. Walk-in repairs, servicing and tyre work, with a sideline in third-party accident claims. Michael runs the floor. Open 10am to 6.30pm weekdays, 9.30am start on Tuesdays, 5pm close on Saturdays, closed Sundays. Vespa and small-bore scooter work shows up most.

What riders say. Simple jobs land well. Vespa tyre valves, vintage Vespa restorations and dirt-bike servicing all bring riders back. Michael explains clearly, turnaround is decent, pricing is honest.

The quality of the repair was top notch.

The accident-claim and complex-fault track is rougher. Bikes sit for weeks or months. Parts get swapped for second-hand without warning. Quotations balloon once the bike is opened up. Dismantling or labour fees get charged even when nothing was fixed. Persistent engine-cut and starting faults sent in for diagnosis come back unresolved, sometimes worse, and the owner turns rude on follow-up. Customers have filed CASE complaints and at least one police report.
