More detail: the full write-up
Best for riders who know exactly what they need done and can hold the line when the upsell starts. The work itself can be fast and skilled, and the boss is generous with knowledge when a visit goes smoothly. The friction is the pressure to expand the job at the bench. Get the quote in writing, refuse extras you did not ask for, and consider a second opinion before agreeing to any major engine or electrical swap.
The lowdown. Walk-in motorcycle workshop in Tampines Industrial Park, off Tampines Street 93. General servicing, electrical jobs, brake work, tyre changes, chain tightening and ODU installs. No formal booking system. Mechanics work fast and the boss is on the floor sharing knowledge with anyone who asks. Closed Sundays.
What riders say. On the good visits, a rider walks in without a booking, gets an ODU installed in about an hour, has new battery terminals thrown in for free, and pays a fair number for clean welding on a cracked top-box bracket. Mechanics know engines, work quickly, and the boss talks shop.
The bad visits look different. A $50 chain job balloons into $400 of replaced parts. A front brake fix turns into a $300-plus quotation full of extras. Mechanics push to swap components that another workshop later confirms did not need swapping. One rider had their bike come out with the rear ABS sensor rubbing the ABS ring after a routine job.
Good to know."From 50 repair became 400. For 2nd hand parts."
