More detail: the full write-up

Good pick if you're shopping a 2B or 2A commuter and want the price beaten without the hard sell. Equally solid if you need straight servicing on a Yamaha or Honda small bike. Less ideal if you need fast WhatsApp turnaround for quotes. Replies can be slow. Lock in every freebie and final figure in writing before you pay deposit.

The lowdown. Motorcycle shop on Defu Lane 10, the workshop strip behind Hougang. Project 8 covers the full chain: new and used bike sales, financing, servicing, sprockets and chains, suspension upgrades, and parts over the counter. Sales sits up front with Sam, Eugene and Logan. The workshop runs out the back under Ah Yong. Open 11am to 7pm on weekdays, until 6pm Saturday, closed Sunday.

What riders say. Most visits are bike purchases or basic servicing on commuter machines like the NMax, MT-15 and Honda Cub. Pricing is the pull. Buyers compare quotes elsewhere and come back because Project 8 lands cheaper or matches with a better package. Sam and Logan handle the paperwork side; both get named for explaining numbers line by line and pushing through quick handovers when stock is tight.

In the workshop, Ah Yong gets sent the diagnostic jobs: clacking noises, performance drops, suspension swaps. Ah Yong won't upsell. Tell him the issue, get the fix, no list of extras tacked on.

"Won't push u to change this n that."

Friction is admin, not mechanical. Phone and message replies can take days when the shop is busy. One rider turned up before stated closing for an installment payment and was told the counter was shut. Confirm before you ride down.
