More detail: the full write-up
Best if you commute daily, ride an older bike, and want honest hands-on work without booking ahead. Especially handy when trouble hits on a Sunday and most other workshops are shut. Less ideal as a first stop for a complicated engine overhaul on a higher-spec machine. If you do book in for serious work, write down the problem, the parts, and the price before the bike goes on the lift.
The lowdown. General motorcycle workshop tucked inside Black Industry Motorcycle Shop on Kaki Bukit Road 4. Run by Ah Seng, a long-standing Malaysian mechanic, with his son Ah Lun now working alongside him. Daily-driver fixes, overhauls, electricals, battery swaps, and off-hours work other shops won't touch. Open seven days, including Sundays and public holidays.
What riders say. Ah Seng is why people come back. Direct, no-frills, fast diagnosis, and pricing that lands lower than expected. Plenty of regulars stick with him for years. His son Ah Lun handles work alongside him now, same school of mechanic.
"Reliable mech by the name of Ah Seng. No frills and straight to the point."
Sunday and public-holiday opening is the other big reason to know about the shop. If your battery dies on a long weekend or your bike stops mid-ride, this is one of the few places picking up the spanner.
Bigger jobs need watching. An overhaul has come back leaking oil and needed redoing elsewhere. A charging-coil diagnosis on a flat-battery visit later turned out to be a ten-dollar wiring fix at another shop. Describe your problem clearly when you walk in, and pin a written quote before agreeing to any major engine work.
