More detail: the full write-up
Best fit if you ride a dirt bike, enduro or MX machine and want suspension set up by someone who actually races and tunes for a living. Big-bike and sports-tourer owners get the same care, just call ahead since the floor leans dirt. If you're in the North-East and tired of set-and-forget servicing, this is the shop where the mechanic explains what they changed and why. Book before you head down.
The lowdown. Kovan workshop on Yio Chu Kang Road, just north of the Hougang stretch. Dirt bike, enduro and MX work is the specialty, and suspension tuning is what most riders show up for. Road bikes are welcome too, with previous jobs ranging from a Triumph Street Triple to a BMW F900XR. Owner Irwin is suspension-certified; Aron does the bench wrenching; Fabian runs service flow.
What riders say. Suspension is the recurring job. Lowering a KTM 390 Adv R without compromising geometry, killing head-shake on a CRF with a fork-height tweak and rebound adjustment, dialling in shocks for Africa Twin owners. Quotes come up front: $80 to $150 for a sag setup, more if parts come into play.
The hospitality matches the technical work. Mechanics talk through what they touched and why, and throw in riding or touring tips while the bike is on the stand. Walk in with a part shipped from Japan and a Japanese-only manual, and Aron will still torque it to spec. Roll up five minutes before closing with a problem and Irwin has been known to take the bike out in the rain to diagnose, then point you at a part the shop doesn't even sell.
Good to know."11/10 I would come here again and Thumpermotorsports will be my home garage now."
