More detail: the full write-up

Best for riders who want one experienced pair of hands on the bike from intake to handover, and who don't mind waiting a day or two for it. Honda CB400 and similar Japanese fours are well covered, and continental work has been done here too. Skip if you need a fast in-and-out for routine servicing across multiple bays. Message ahead before you ride down to Kaki Bukit so Ah Guan can slot you in.

The lowdown. Solo motorcycle workshop tucked into First East Centre on Kaki Bukit Road 2. One mechanic, Ah Guan, runs the floor with twenty years on the tools. Bring it in for engine oil changes, brake work, starter trouble and electrical diagnosis on Japanese and continental bikes. Closed Mondays, open late through the week.

What riders say. Ah Guan diagnoses fast. Mention "have to knock to start the bike" and he calls it as a starter carbon issue before you finish describing it. Work usually comes out as a bundle: the original fix plus a check on air filter, coolant, oil, tyres and brake pads. He shows old parts before binning them.

Pricing is laid out before work starts. Updates come over WhatsApp through the day. Because it's a one-man shop, turnaround takes longer than a multi-bay outfit. Bring patience or drop the bike off and collect later.

"Smoother, more responsive, and with a crisp VTEC activation I had never experienced before."
